Adult Industry News: German Court Keeps Pornhub Online & More

This week’s adult industry news: a German court keeps Pornhub and YouPorn online, Luxembourg fines LiveJasmin again over age checks, and JustFor.fans adds local payments in Latin America.

This round of adult industry news is about who gets to police adult sites in Europe. In Germany, judges said a state regulator overstepped. In Luxembourg, however, a regulator flexed its muscles. Meanwhile, a creator platform made it easier for Latin American fans to pay. Here’s what happened.

Adult Industry News: German Court Blocks Pornhub “Network Ban”

On Friday, October 9, Germany’s Higher Administrative Court of North Rhine-Westphalia ruled in two urgent cases. As a result, a major internet provider does not have to block Pornhub and YouPorn in Germany for now. The court announced the decision in an official press release.

The dispute is long-running. In 2020, the state media authority, the Landesanstalt für Medien NRW, ordered the Cyprus-based operator to stop offering the sites without effective age verification. The operator did not comply. Because enforcement in Cyprus failed, the regulator turned to access providers. In April 2024, it ordered an internet provider to block both sites.

Aylo Freesites challenged those orders. First, a Düsseldorf administrative court ruled in 2025 that the sites need not be blocked until the main cases are decided. Then the regulator appealed, and it has now lost. According to epd medien, the decisions cannot be appealed.

The reasoning matters most. The judges said youth protection online has been governed EU-wide by the Digital Services Act (DSA) since February 2024. Therefore, national regulation alongside it is no longer an option. Instead, the country where a platform is based is generally responsible. For YouPorn, that is Cyprus.

Pornhub is different. It is classed as a very large online platform, so the European Commission is in charge. The court noted that the Commission has already opened proceedings. It is examining whether Pornhub breaches the DSA’s child-protection rules. Heise online and XBIZ also covered the ruling.

In short, age verification fights in Europe are moving from national capitals to Brussels. That echoes earlier battles we covered, such as when France rewrote a bill that threatened OnlyFans.

Luxembourg Fines LiveJasmin a Second Time

Luxembourg’s media regulator, ALIA, has again fined the companies behind LiveJasmin. JWS Americas S.à r.l. and JWS International S.à r.l. must jointly pay €25,000. That is the maximum fine the law allows, ALIA said in its announcement.

The board’s decision is dated September 28, 2026. It found that the operators failed to apply proper minor-protection measures in Austria, Belgium, Spain and the Netherlands. ALIA called the violation manifest, grave and serious.

Notably, this is not the first penalty. ALIA already sanctioned the operators in August 2025. Afterward, they promised to deploy an EU-wide solution by September 30, 2025. Because that promise was not kept, ALIA chose the top fine. Luxembourg paper Luxemburger Wort and AVN reported the news this week.

Why does Luxembourg act for the whole EU? LiveJasmin falls under its jurisdiction. So ALIA regulates the service in every member state where it is available. This is the same country-of-origin logic the German court relied on. Put simply, the home regulator holds the keys.

JustFor.fans Adds Local Payments in Latin America

On the business side, JustFor.fans (JFF) rolled out local payment options in three countries. Fans in Brazil can now pay with Pix. In Mexico, fans can use SPEI. Colombian users, meanwhile, can pay through PSE. The news came in a press release on October 9.

JFF announced the launch at the first GRABBYS Latin Awards in Medellín. Founder Dominic Ford said the goal is to help fans without credit cards reach the site and its models. He added that JFF launched fully in Spanish and Portuguese a month earlier.

For creators, this is a practical win. Card access is often the biggest barrier for fans in the region. Local rails can therefore lift conversions. Similarly, other platforms keep adding new ways to pay and sell, as seen in our roundup on OnlyFans terms and clip-store subscriptions.

More Adult Industry News: Events on the Calendar

Finally, the event season is busy. According to XBIZ, Venus Berlin runs October 22-25. Exxxotica New Jersey follows on October 23-25. In addition, the annual Heaven & Hell industry Halloween party is set for Friday, October 30, at Jungle in Hollywood.

What It Means

Overall, Europe is settling on one rule. The regulator in a platform’s home country, or the European Commission for the largest sites, sets the pace. National regulators elsewhere have fewer tools. Still, enforcement is real, as the LiveJasmin fine shows. For creators, payment access remains the key growth lever. We’ll keep tracking these stories in our next update.
