This week’s porn industry news: Pornhub returns to Australia for age-verified iPhone users, OnlyFans rewrites its creator terms, a court pauses Minnesota’s AI nudification ban, and clip stores and subscriptions start to merge.

This round of porn industry news has a little bit of everything. There’s a big platform coming back to a country it left, a major creator site quietly changing its rules, an AI court fight and some smart new ways for creators to get paid. Here’s what happened.

1. Pornhub Is Back in Australia (If You Use an iPhone)

Aylo, the company behind Pornhub, announced on Tuesday that Australian users can access the site again, as long as they’re on an Apple device and have confirmed their age through Apple’s Australian age-verification process, XBIZ reports.

Aylo restricted access to its free video-sharing sites in Australia back in March. That was its response to the country’s new Designated Internet Services Code, which requires sites whose “sole or predominant purpose” is adult content to put age-assurance checks in place.

Aylo has long pushed for device-based age verification instead of site-by-site ID checks. Alex Kekesi, Aylo’s VP of brand and community, said that “today Aylo welcomes eligible age-confirmed Australian iOS users back to Pornhub.” In a longer statement published by AVN, Aylo urged Apple to expand the system globally and called on Google and Microsoft to do the same, arguing that phones, tablets and computers “could and should start as kid-safe devices by default.”

It’s the same move Aylo made in the U.K., where it reopened to Apple-verified users in May. XBIZ notes that U.K. regulator Ofcom has since opened an investigation into whether that approach meets the Online Safety Act, and it’s not yet clear how Australia’s eSafety regulator will react.

2. OnlyFans Rewrites Its Terms of Service

In creator-economy news, OnlyFans has new terms of service that take effect November 1, according to the Riverfront Times. The company emailed creators about the changes on October 1.

The biggest change: OnlyFans can suspend an account and hold earnings if it thinks a creator “may have breached” its rules. The old 2024 terms required a “seriously or repeatedly” breach. Other notable changes include:
